Isilmo

Bay colt by Sepoy out of Yavanna

I was born at Northwood Park on the 15th October 2015. My dad Sepoy lives at another farm in NSW called Kelvinside. He was a very good racehorse and was a Champion two-year-old and sprinter. I hope to visit him there when I am bigger and ready to run fast. I also have a brother called Telperion who was very good as a two-year-old.

In the meantime, my mum, who won two races, and I are having a great time living at Northwood Park. I can see the river which now has a lot of water in it as we have had lots of rain.

I am very clever now and I can walk nicely when I have my head collar and lead rope on. I always have a person with me when I go walking! I am looking forward to turning one on the 1st August 2016.

As you can see I do like having my photo taken but only when it suits me.

I have had an exciting start to the New Year - I have started my breaking-in process! This is when I learn how to become a racehorse. I learn how my bridle works and how to wear a saddle. Once I am comfortable, my human companion will try and ride me for the very first time, it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be, it was so much fun! The other day I had my very first walk through deep water in the splash pool, next step swimming! I can’t wait as it has been so hot here in the Hunter Valley. I’m loving this new adventure but I can’t wait for an even bigger adventure when I go to the racing stables in Sydney. I have been named Isilmo.
